I interviewed a Financial Center Manager for Bank of America. I will explain what a FCM at Bank of America does and challenges that he has in this financial environment. Bank of America is a huge company where there are different levels of Management. As a financial Center Manager, he falls on the low level of management position. He has to report to a Market Sales Managers and Region supervisor. And then comes the Executives for the Bank. As a Financial Center Manager he has 10 employees that report to me, (Assistant Manager, Relationship Bankers, Personal Bankers and CSR). Being a FCM, require him to have strong skills in different areas. For examples; the most important skills in the role as a Financial Center Manager

He also provides awards to their employees. FCM is the motor of the Banking Centers. As any workplace, there are employees who are not disciplined and it could causes major problems. Typically a FCM has to deal with this situation. The FCM approaches the employees with a coaching and then with a verbal warning. If the situation persist, he gives a written warning and eventually a final. These situations are very uncomfortable for managers. In some cases. Circumstances go out the manager’s hand. Bank of America has a legal department for employees. When a FCM has a personal situation which might have a potential legal impact, he reports to legal human resources division. This department guide managers to what action needs to be taken in a specific situation. Dealing with low performance employees, is one the most challenge circumstances for a Financial Center Manager at Bank of America. Not all employees produce the same, and not everyone is willing to win. He has to know how to overcome those obstacles.
Based on what I learned in this course, Managers are responsible in different areas. Now in days manager’s position requires more than just customer service experience. They have to go above and beyond and perform well to exceed expectations. A lot of Managers have to multitask and have a lot of pressure in top of
