In Call of the Wild, Buck had to use a strong sense of perseverance to get through his many injuries. First off, Buck had crucial owners that beat him. In the beginning Peralt kidnapped Buck from the Judge and beat him. His first owner, the man in the red sweater made Buck obey him by hitting him with a club. Later, Charles whipped Buck almost to death for too weak to pull their heavy slead. Another example in Call of the Wild is that Buck had an arch enemy; Spitz. Spitz brutally harmed Buck and his teammates. First, Spitz, the lead dog, kept picking fights with Buck and the other dogs. In the meantime, Spitz kept killing his teammates for no reason. In the final fight against Buck and Spitz, Spitz deeply injured Buck. In the end, Buck finally killed him. Last but not least, Buck got starved almost to death with his owners Charles, Hal, and Mercedes. With the starvation, Buck became extremely weak, it was becoming harder and harder for him to pull the sled. Sooner than later, the starvation killed many of Bucks teammates, they were no longer able to pull the sled. Even throughout all these injuries Buck persevered through it with great strength and survived. On the other hand, my dad had to persevere through an injury from football, but his injuries weren't as extreme as Buck’s. First off, my dad got an injury on his throwing arm. My dad was out for a long time. It was a brutal injury, so my dad was devastated. It was hard for him to decipher that it might be the end of his quarterback career. In the meantime, my dad knew the only thing he could do was persevere and rehabilitate. He had to go through physical therapy to strengthen his arm. First of all Buck and my dad both experienced pain. Even though they both went through pain, Buck’s was more extreme. My dad got a really bad injury from football. On the other hand, Buck got beat up by his owners and other teammates physically and emotionally. Together, Buck and my dad both used a strong sense of strength to get through it. Using strength, Buck kept going inside even when he was too weak. My dad used his last bit of strength in his arm to get better. Buck used strength all over opposed to my dad using strength just for his arm. Buck needed a long recovery after a brutal injury as well as my dad needed a long recovery for his arm. For Bucks recovery, he rested with John Thornton after he got injured. For my dad’s recovery, he had to complete physical therapy to rehabilitate his arm. My dad was out of football for a while. Buck used great strength to get through his many injuries, at the same time my dad to not give up in order to play football
