The Sociological Effects of Breast Feeding in Public Exposed breasts are everywhere. The hypersexualization of breast occurs within ad campaigns, magazines, social media, and even television. Exposed breasts are a common sight within society, so why is it that as soon as there is an infant near those breasts people are quick to be offended? Breast feeding, either public or private, is a legal within all 50 states, but two U.S states, Idaho and West Virginia, do not enforce a women’s right to nurse in public (NursingFreedom 2011).
