Have you ever wondered why the brain looks like it has folds? The brain is the most complex, and highest quality organ in the body. The brain has folds and has six brain waves: Beta, Gamma, Sensory, Theta, and Delta. The brain also encompasses the cerebellum, brainstem and four brain lobes: Frontal, Parietal, Temporal, and Occipital. The lobes and waves of the brain are an essential component of every human being.
At the root of all thoughts, emotions, and behaviors is the communication between neurons with our brain and it is called brainwaves. Brainwaves are produced by synchronized electrical pulses from masses of neurons communicating with each other. Brain waves are detected using sensors placed …show more content…
They have been seen in states of peak performance (both physical and mental,) high focus and concentration and during mystic and transeen dental experiences (www.hirnweller.com,2017). A lot of research is currently being done on Gamma brainwaves in the 40 hertz range during meditation (www.hirnweller.com, 2017). Gamma brainwaves are the fastest brainwave frequency with the smallest amplitude (www.omharmonics.com,2017). Neuro scientists believe that Gamma waves are able to link information from all parts of the brain. The Gamma waves originates in the thalamus and moves from the back of the brain to the front and back again forty times per second. High gamma activity also corresponds to a state of peak performance. Elite athletes, top-notch musicians and high achievers in all fields produce far more gamma waves than …show more content…
Alpha waves are linked with relaxed mental states, an increase in alpha wave activity is the goal of most biofeedback training. EEG can be used to provide moment-to-moment feedback when alpha waves increase or decrease (www.psychology.com,2017). Mindfulness training and meditation tend to produce noticeably more alpha waves without the use of technological machinery. Neuroscientists at Brown University are doing research on how the brain achieves "optimal inattention" by changing the synchronization of brain waves between different brain regions (www.psychology.com,2017). If Alpha waves are too high it causes day dreaming, and an over relaxed state and if to low it causes OCD, anxiety, and high stress
