In source E a rope is clearly visible around the Tollund Man’s neck. Logically, a rope around the deceased’s neck means they died of hanging. Sources C and D, though not contradicting source E, prove another point; this hanging was a sacrifice. Shown in source D, a silver cup was found near the Tollund Man’s body. Silver cups with engravings were not a common item at the time (4000-3000 B.C), it would take weeks to complete a piece of art as such, meaning an object of this quality would be highly valued and most likely quite desireable, not something that would be buried.
