An effective manager is efficiently able to integrate their core functions of planning, organizing, staffing, coordinating and controlling; to accomplish the outlined goals of the organization.
An effective supervisor must be able to oversee staff to ensure that management’s goals are met. They must be able to delegate tasks appropriately, train and motivate employees as well as resolve any grievances to ensure completion of all tasks in a timely manner.
One Stop Production, a uniform manufacturing company is now under the management of Susan Holford, daughter of Managing Director Amos Holford.
Having tasked herself with restructuring the organization and improving productivity, Susan must now make the relevant decisions and implementations

Under the previous management, there were supervisors in place; however, once the Managing Director – Amos Holford noticed a discrepancy, he had a tendency of confronting the staff directly. These instances created confusion and avoidable conflicts. This therefore had a negative effect on the motivation of employees and could have negatively contributed to the levels of …show more content…
Benefits of Establishing an Organizational Structure:
• Increased likelihood of efficiency and effectiveness in completing tasks. Reduction in costs through the elimination of redundant tasks between departments.
• Promotion of a free flow of information from management to low-level staff and vice versa. Management would be able to effectively communicate their goals and objectives with all employees as the information is relayed downwards. Employees would be able to notify management of any discrepancies or dissatisfaction and have all matters settled in a timely manner. They would also be able to make suggestions as to means in which they could improve the company’s policies and procedures.
• Through the establishment of this communication channel, employees would be more motivated to complete tasks, as their opinions would now be heard. Employees would have a clear indication as to whom they should report to for approval, as well as whom they should refer to for instructions; thus eliminating the instance of confusion through the intervention of the Managing
