Increased parent pressure will possibly cause children to overpower their maximum abilities and lead to serious overuse and injuries that may affect their sports career, or even their quality of life. A survey that was performed by the American Osteopathic Association shows that two-thirds of parents surveyed have children ages 5-17 who participate in organized sports or other physical activities. But the negative side of the survey showed that many parents could push their young athletes over their limits causing them to experience adult injuries, such as knee, elbow, or back pain.
