Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator was purpose for people to discover who they are as a person.
According to the Meyers-Briggs Foundations, “The purpose of the Myers-Briggs Type
Indicator (MBTI) personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and useful in people 's lives” (The Myers). The MBTI questionnaire was published in 1943 and it was developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Meyers. It became a popular personality assessment around the globe and today it now serves at least two million people on a yearly basis, providing them with their personality type ("OPP Ltd."). Some strengths that may be associated with the MBTI questionnaire is that the test may show you what kind of personalities you may be similar to, including possible leadership and personal development opportunities. The weaknesses that come with the questionnaire is that there could be a multiple number of factors that could take play before, during and after the questionnaire is being assets so that could give a inaccurate measure. The behavioral avoidance/inhibition (BIS/BAS) scales is another measurement of how someone may react in future situations. It is similar to the Meyer-Briggs Type Indicator in that it can also determine a person’s personality. It measures how driven a person is towards completing tasks, how much some individual likes to have fun, how some individual respond to rewards and finally it…
