Are teachers an important part of society? Solomon Ortiz, the former U.S. Representative for Texas 's 27th congressional district, once said, “Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students.” Parents and teachers play a huge part in the development of children and teenagers. Students spend time at school for seven hours a day, five days a week depending on the country a person lives in. In the United States of America, students go to school up to twelfth grade. For years, students rely upon teachers! For someone who is aspiring to become a teacher, they must between working at the elementary, middle, or high school level. High school teachers in particular play a major part not only in teaching their subjects, but also in preparing students for college. Knowing this, more people need to go into the teaching career.
What exactly do teachers do? What is required in order to become a high school teacher? Teachers work a 10-month school year with a 2-month break during the summer with an annual wage as $55,050. Typically, high school teachers have many duties they have to perform day to day. Some of these duties include: planning lessons, teaching students, grading assignments, assess students, supervise students outside of the classroom, prepare students for standardized tests, communicate with the parents of students, develop and enforce classroom rules, and working with individual students.
