Employing the right people with the right skills at the right time is essential for organizations and could be the most important component in decreasing a turnover rate. Maintaining a low employee turnover can minimize the cost a company expends, helps to maintain quality personnel and boosts employee morale. Having an efficient recruitment process aligns the right individuals with the skills needed for the job. Quality interviews and background checks provide the reliability in personnel that in turn provide the customer care your company strives to provide. Internal and external recruitment methods utilized to hire team members within an organization. Both methods have positive and negative aspects. However, this paper will focus primarily on the external process. Prior to organizations completing the hiring process they must identify the need for the position through a job analysis. This systematic process provides an understanding of what is a necessity of employee success and is a tool used to compile the job description. This paper will further highlight what a job description encompasses and what must go into defining a job description.
