This quote by Vince Lombardi states, “We didn’t lose the game, we just ran out of time.” That quote approximately means that just because a scoreboard states that you lost a game doesn’t mean you didn’t have the potential in the end to beat a team with a little more time. Using that meaning of the quote, the reader can assume that this quote was wrote by someone like a coach of some kind which also helps the reader know that the audience must be athletes. With that, people can infer that this coach was trying to invoke…

As you have noticed, there are a couple things I would like to discuss with you connecting how we should support the students here at ALC. We need to find the proper ways to help them academically and emotionally. When teachers give out work, usually students don’t want to do it. The answer as to why is because students want work that connects to their lives. Something that’s rationale and relatable.…

Accelerated English 4 has been a class that has been one of my best English classes. The class taught me many new techniques along with improving my skills that I already knew, though not all were improved. My strength in vocabulary was still as high as it was while my ability to transition had improved quite well, though my ability to create a well styled paper was still suffering. When Accelerated English 4 started there was no excitement about the papers I would have to write.…

Make sure you are not rambling about the subject, and keep in mind that your language does not have to be complex. Simplicity can reach your audience better, so make sure your eloquence is serving your ideas. Use your own words when you write instead of sounding like something you are not, as the readers will find this more enjoyable. A few months ago, when I was still in high school as a Senior I was placed in an AP English course because of the program I was in. The program placed all the students in the course regardless of if they were considered AP English ready. During the course, there were over several writing assignments, each on novels or quotes. However, my teacher kept informing me that my writing needs to improve to reach the college level. Yet I continued to complete assignments without understanding the mistakes, simply to earn the grade for because I turned an essay in.…

It feels like so long ago when I first began this English course. I can remember being so excited about the class topic, racism and social justice, which I felt that I had a lot of passion for. Little did I know that I would have to gather up even more enthusiasm and passion to be able to continue writing papers about the same topic all semester long. This course has tested my endurance, and at many times my patience, and for that I am thankful because I know in the end, it has made me a better writer. Despite various minor challenges this semester I believe that I have put in the hard work that it takes and I have achieved the course goals and will complete this class feeling fulfilled and accomplished.…

On my first day of college I was incredibly nervous about multiple obstacles I was about to face. One of my biggest worries was how I would manage to pass a college English class. However, when I walked in the classroom and saw my old high school classmates Jace and Lauren, I became a bit more comfortable. I was also relieved to discover that the class was very small and the teacher was not scary at all, unlike my prior belief.…

English composition was never my strong nor favorite because of my knowledge of the grammar and organization in my writing. Taking English 101 is a jump start for me, because last year of high school my teacher focused primarily on English literature. The course has introduced me to rhetorical analysis, and swatching (imitating author argument). Throughout the semester and all of the papers written I can say that it was a good experience to write at a college level and the expectation from college professors is good for future courses that involve writing essays.…
