Accelerated English 4 Analysis

Accelerated English 4 has been a class that has been one of my best English classes. The class taught me many new techniques along with improving my skills that I already knew, though not all were improved. My strength in vocabulary was still as high as it was while my ability to transition had improved quite well, though my ability to create a well styled paper was still suffering.
When Accelerated English 4 started there was no excitement about the papers I would have to write. This class became another class that I had to write papers for the worst of topics. I knew my expansive vocabulary was strong enough for any paper. I learned that using the same old, boring, words were going to get me nowhere in life. Accelerated English 4 had inserted a few new words into my vocabulary, though not many at all. It helped me to learn the meanings of words faster along with their respective origins. This was not the case for all my writing abilities, some skills

I still have an issue that causes most of my paper to fall apart before I start it. I can understand what I write, but translating that to paper or text only becomes jumbled and confusing by the time I am finished with all ideas. In Accelerated English 4 I was able to improve my style, though it still remains dull enough that I manage to lose most of the people who read my papers. My use of moat properties in Accelerated English 4 and other classes that required a written report from me have very similar problems. I have always been told that my style in addition to my thought process tends to become blurry and confusing. I can think well but have trouble conveying my ideas to others. During my time in Accelerated English 4, I was able to change that some, but not much at all. My English teacher helped me learn the beginnings to mastering this skill, which is now on the way to being improved and mastered in this English

Before this course, I did not know grammar well, and what I did know I did not fully understand. Yet, due to taking the course, I learned more about the structure of the English language, and can use grammar better than I did before. For instance, the first three major assignments were filled with missing comas, verb-tense misuses, and run-on sentences. Now, I may still make mistakes, but I know why I have made them. In other English courses, I had grammar homework and reading assignments that, often, seemed to be busy work, but with this course, I did not think that was the case.…

This semester in Ms. Wagner’s accelerated english class I learned many important writing techniques that massively improved my writing, like how to use TIQA format in paragraphs, how to avoid bad habits such as the use of “to be” verbs or the overuse of commas, and how to properly write a thesis statement. One of the first skills I learned this semester is how to organize my paragraphs into TIQA format. TIQA formatting is a way to set up a paragraph to keep it nice and neat. It stands for topic sentence (or transition), intro to quote, quote, and analysis. The best example of my improvement using this technique is one of the first writing pieces I did in English this year, the Book of Sands thematic paragraph.…

Over the course of English 102, I have developed a new set of skills and learned to become a better writer. When I first came into English 102 I struggled with many different concepts of writing. During the semester in English 102, my writing became stronger because I learned how to incorporate evidence into my argument, do more thorough research, have smoother transitions, and have more organization throughout my essay. I learned how to peer review better and to take what others say and incorporate it into my essay. In the beginning, before English 102, I struggled with good organization and flow to an essay, sandwich evidence into paragraphs, and having strong arguments in persuasive essays.…

The 4.0 National Honor society students travelled the high road and took a collegiate level English composition course, however, the athletes and educationally challenged were thrown into the melting pot of English 4. The course, led by Mrs. Elaine Bunn, turned out to be the favorite class of the majority of students. English 4 had sky-scraping highs, rock bottom lows, and a valuable strength branded into the young students.…

Over the course of this semester in my English 1320 class I have seen a drastic change throughout my writing style. Although I still have difficulties with a few writing tasks, I believe that I have improved significantly throughout this course. I have found that with my professor’s guidance along with my own personal editing that my grades have increased. Although it is difficult to not get caught up in simply striving for a letter grade or attaining a 4.0 grade point average, I would like to believe that my main goal was different. Of course I would love to achieve those goals as well, but overall my primary goal throughout this class was to become more relaxed and comfortable in my writings, to use new strategies and proper kinds of conventions, and to truly find a way to express my passion on these papers.…

Everyone hates English class is what I thought before taking English 102. However, that may have been the case before I entered Dr. Byrd’s domain, but after finishing the class I have come to the realization that English class can be greatly resourceful. English 102 this year has had its ups and downs, and I must admit the ups outweigh the downs. Meaning, this year, I have learned that I am not a student who wants to read or write, but through reading and writing my mind and skill sets concerning English have grown. During English 102 this year, reading and writing in class helped me expand my writing skills, improved my will to comprehend, and most importantly helped expand my knowledge.…

It feels like so long ago when I first began this English course. I can remember being so excited about the class topic, racism and social justice, which I felt that I had a lot of passion for. Little did I know that I would have to gather up even more enthusiasm and passion to be able to continue writing papers about the same topic all semester long. This course has tested my endurance, and at many times my patience, and for that I am thankful because I know in the end, it has made me a better writer. Despite various minor challenges this semester I believe that I have put in the hard work that it takes and I have achieved the course goals and will complete this class feeling fulfilled and accomplished.…

English 106 was the first real college class that I ever stepped foot in, and because of that, I was extremely nervous and unsure. The English teachers at my high school always said that the papers they assigned were held to college standards, and I always did well on those assignments, but I was still unsure about this course. I expected this course to be loaded with reading and writing assignments that would make me pull all-nighters on a regular basis. After going through English 106, I realized that there were not too many assignments and that I learned a lot from each one. To me, the most salient parts of this course were the discourse community paper, the annotated bibliography, the art analysis, peer reviews, revisions, and reflections.…

English 2010 has been a learning experience for me, I've been able to learn a lot about english that I did not know or work on before. With the first essay that we worked on I did a memoir I really enjoyed working on this paper, In class we were able to get freedom to add pictures to are pictures make it a little bit more creative I certainly was not used to this; I’ve been told my whole schooling experience that you have the intro and the conclusion and three body paragraphs. The memoir I was able to write to what I felt like I needed it to be, add pictures so it could appeal more to the eye when reading and also made it easier.…
