The Food Stamp Act was first established in 1964. The goal of this establishment was to increase levels of nutrition among individuals with low-income and achieve a more effective use of agricultural overproduction. The Food Stamp Program required the purchase of stamps at benefit levels comparable to what a household would normally have to food expenses. In 1981, the program faced severe budget cuts during the Administration of President Ronald Reagan, which lead to a rise of hunger in America. SNAP-Ed was then established in the Food Stamp Program as an option to states. They could apply for matching funds from the government to deliver nutrition education to all persons at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level. In 1992, seven
