In the Middle East people are punished by hanging, beheading, lethal injections, firing squad, and occasionally a crucifixion. Many centuries ago people were charged by death penalties for minor crimes. For example The code of Hammurabi has a law of “an eye for an eye”. People were punished based on their crime, however the punishment would vary depending on the social status of the victim. If a slave was abused, the slave owner did not have a harsh punishment because the slave belongs to him.
