For those who work hard every day and on their feet all day, it is time for a minimum wage increase. The first minimum wage was only twenty-five cents an hour. The very last increase was in 2007 where it went from $5.15 to $7.25.This is considered below average but the highest minimum wage is in Washington which stands at $9.19 an hour. Today protesters are arguing and demanding that the federal minimum wage should be raised. This is not just a teen problem nor does it just contain fast food workers. This is for workers all over the United States who believe they deserve an increase. Even though people think it should stay the same because the U.S is already in debt, I believe that minimum wage should be raised because workers have families
