Armstrong believes that the fact that no one can agree on what a "living wage" is means that the term is completely random. He believes that minimum wage is “a legally mandated minimum that employers must pay employees regardless of all relevant facts pertaining to their businesses.” According to Armstrong, if the government forces employers to pay employees more than their work is worth to employers, then employers will either stop hiring new employees or fire those who don 't work harder than the legally mandated minimum wage. Some may cite problems with information, body language, and overall credibility. They may go on to argue that information on a candidate may be outdated, biased, or incorrect. Though this is true in some instances, as long as a voter does thorough research they will find nonbiased sources as well as form their own accurate opinion of a candidate. As far as body language, there are those that may say that candidates need to appear passionate and connected to come across to voters. While this may be true, if a feeling is not genuine it is obvious to the viewer. Candidates should have genuine passions and emotions when it comes to America’s issues. If a candidate is faking their passion, they appear fake and untrustworthy because they do not genuinely care for these issues yet are pretending they do. This type of “lie” damages a candidate’s credibility as voters will not trust them. Credibility is one of the most important things a candidate should have. It is important to follow through on promises made to voters and to not appear as a hypocrite. For example. Paul Ryan voted against a bill that would help parents spend more time with their children and maintain a better work life balance. Then, when he ran for speaker of the house, one of his requests, on his list of demands, was to be able to spend more time with his family while in office. This caused many people to question his credibility and loyalty to the people. He
