5.1 Adenosine Triphosphate System
In touch football there are three systems used throughout the duration of the game these are the ATP system (Adenosine Triphosphate), the Lactic Acid system (anaerobic glycolysis) and the final system the Aerobic system. ATP doesn’t exist in the muscles and tissues waiting to supply abundant amounts of energy (Hede, Russell and Weatherby), ATP is a chain consisting of three phosphate groups. To produce energy the phosphate chain breaks and one phosphate group is broken off to produce this energy needed for movement. In breaking the phosphate chain, energy is used to allow the production of energy as the end product (Personal training direct, 2014). If this is a quote it needs quotation marks

This system involves the partial breakdown of glycose and lactic acid in a chemical reaction known as glycolysis, glycose used for this system comes from either the glycose found in the blood or from the breakdown of glycogen within the muscles this is known as glycogenolysis (Hede, Russell and Weatherby). If this is a quote it needs quotation marks However if the body uses a large amount of the Lactic Acid they feel a burning sensation and a bad taste in their mouths. This system at high intensity lasts from 10-60 seconds, in touch football the Lactic Acid system is used very commonly. A middle player would use it when they are constantly performing at high intensity to quickly ruck the ball or when the middle player is getting targeted at and has to quickly get on side. Considering my fitness test results and my individual performance in Touch the middle I would meet the fitness demands of a middle player. My lactic acid is large?? And can last a large duration of time meaning I can do the requirements for a middle …show more content…
Following this, a fitness test was designed for agility in touch football. This test was effective as it had specific meaning it was specific to one sport which was touch football. This was done in many aspects of the drill, more notably the dump during the middle of the test as this is heavily used throughout a game of Touch. The standards of the test were indicated by using the result of Aaron Saunders as an excellent middle player to determine what is deemed as excellent, good, average, fair and poor. The timeframe in which this test was finished varied between 35-42 seconds this duration is important to consider as it means that this drill used up the ATP-PC system and the anaerobic glycolysis meaning that it had finished prior to the beginning of the Aerobic capacity, according to (Hede, Russell and Weatherby) ‘’The ATP-PC system when used, is undertaken once using agility’’ however with the duration of time used to undergo this test it can be said that indeed the ATP-PC system is still in use after 10 seconds but either the intensity in which the participant is undergoing the test has moderated

The supplementation has now also become popular among recreational weight lifters (1,4). When performing short duration high intensity exercise, the majority of energy comes from the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) - phosphocreatine (PCr) system. PCr helps to increase the rate of rephosphorylation of ADP to ATP through the use of the creatine kinase reaction (1,2,3,4,5). As the exercise proceeds and the PCr stores are depleted, the performance levels are reduced…
