According to American Nurses Association, “A Healthy Work Environment is one that is safe, empowering, and satisfying.” Supporting optimal health and a safe work environment requires skilled communication. In Huntington Hospital Cancer Center, we work with different medical personnel such as doctors, an acupuncturist, nurse navigators, symptom management nurses, a social worker, a dietitian, therapists, and physicists. This multidisciplinary team meets weekly to discuss all our patients’ treatment needs such as symptoms management, dietitian referral needs, and social services.
