Ageism is a form of discrimination that is prejudice against people because of their age (Wikipedia). Age discrimination is something that people are faced with every day. As the generation of older people grow, they want to stay healthy and being active is something they choose to do. Finding a job was hard for older people, so Congress passed the Age Discrimination in Employment Act in 1967 which was intended for employers to hire people based on their ability to perform on the job and not because of their age. When young people go out looking for a job, some get discouraged if they are not hired.
