We should not judge someone due to the fact that they are elder, a different race, study a different religion or have different beliefs about a certain topic. To begin with my outburst, ageism is a stereotype. What most people believe is that those who are considered a “senior citizen” are incapable of doing something a person much younger than them could do. Needless to say, they could be able to, just not as well-done as a younger person. The main reason why is because someone much younger than them has more energy. The reason I chose my grandfather is because he is a great reason why ageism should not be a thing. My 69-year-old grandfather, believe it or not, is very active for his age. This is a program that pays close attention and does everything they can to help older adults that suffer from those serious matters. Another program that focuses on helping those that suffer from either of those problems are the Adult Day Centers. They will not only provide help those with disabilities stay at independent as they can in their own environment instead of being checked into a home. This program not only focuses on helping older adults feel independent enough to say in their own home, but they also provide activities they can participate in to interact with others, healthy meals, and transportation if needed. A program I would recommend to those who do not suffer from a medical problem or disability would be the National Institute on Aging (NIA). It focuses on the health and well-being of those aging in their life. They look to understand the deeper meaning of aging and what the process consist
