Explanation: Okonkwo is depressed after his exile to Mbanta. He credits his life as being terrible. Uchendu sees this, and tries to disprove Okonkwo by saying other people have been or live in worse. Uchendu brings up his daughter Akueni, who has thrown away many sets of twins, to show her pain in losing her children as far worse than being exiled to ones motherland.
