A Narrative Essay On A Gothic Story

It was very late at night. I was not a hundred percent sure what time it was. If I were to guess, I would say that it was 11:30. As I was thinking to myself, I said "Wow it is really late I need to go to bed". As I was getting ready to lie down I heard a loud bang. I thought that maybe it was my neighbors, since they are always working on things at all hours of the day and night. When I heard another loud noise, a short time later I decided to go back downstairs to see for myself what it could be. When I went downstairs, I noticed my Uncle Mike standing up looking through the window of the backdoor. He was staying with us that evening and was asleep on the couch when he heard the noise too. We sat there for several minutes staring out the windows, …show more content…
This time we saw something too. We saw what appeared to be a man running through our backyard. I then looked down at the lock on the backdoor and realized it was unlocked. When I reached down and locked the deadbolt, the noise from locking the door startled the man that was in our yard. He stopped on the patio and was now on the other side of the door staring right back at me. My uncle and I quickly ducked down for what seemed like a minute or two. When we popped back up to look out the window, the man was still standing on the patio just staring back at the house. My uncle and I quickly came up with a plan to try to and scare him off. First, we tried to turn off all the lights to make it look like no one was home. But when we looked out the window, he was still there. We then tried to make it look like we had a weapon, but that failed too.

My uncle and I then came up with the perfect plan. We were going to open the door, start screaming and then run towards the man. My uncle said, “We go on the count of three”. I nodded that I was ready. He started counting, “3….2….1….” We stood up, opened the door, started screaming and….the man was gone! He was gone without a trace. We were just about ready to go back to bed when we heard a loud knock on the front door. The knocking didn’t stop this time. It kept getting louder and louder. I thought whoever it was doing it would break through the door at any second. My Uncle Mike finally opened

He tried to come in and we had to push him back out. I asked him "Who are you? Why are you harassing us?" The man did not respond so I asked him again, “Who are you? And why are you harassing us?" His response really freaked me out. He replied, “I am Bobo. I am running from the police and need you to hide me in your house?" "No!" we both screamed as we slammed the door in his face. We then heard sirens in the distance that sounded like they were getting closer. Looking out the window, I noticed the man running down the street and out of the light. I did not fall asleep at all that night because I had no idea where to he was. As I laid there in bed, I thought to myself, maybe I shouldn't open the door to just anyone. Next time I might not be so

Dear, Young Man that stole from us, You may not remember me but I’m sure you remember the house I live in. It was a two story colonial, blue with cream trim and shutters; you should remember because it was the last house you stole from before ending up in jail. You stole electronics, that my husband and I worked hard for, a set of silver that was given to us as a wedding gift and some art. Although some of these items had sentimental value, I am not angry that you took these items from us, they are just things. It is the fact that you have taken away our trust, and security in our house, which haunts me.…

Spikes of Fungus pierced the bodies like hot knives did through butter! Looking up I could see a riddle on the wall: "what's ahead of you, but you can't see it?"…
