In the article the author points out that “Marijuana legalization will usher in America’s new version of “Big Tobacco”” (nrfocus, 2014, 1). They then go on to state that many people have already begun inventing new products that make use of the newly legalized marijuana such as “Ring Pots” and “Pot Tarts,” which as nrfocus states, have led to many children going to the hospital. Nrfocus points out that marijuana can cause psychosis and schizophrenia when used often. It is stated that some children can get addicted to marijuana just from trying it, which could lead to them consuming it a lot more in the future. Not only that, but it goes on further to say that adolescents can lose up to 8 IQ points later in life because of marijuana consumption. Marijuana is not like that, however, and can only be obtained through illegal methods. The author gives out these examples to persuade the reader into seeing that marijuana can cause some serious damage to those who use it
