In Canada, marijuana poses significant risks to health public when it comes citizens who consume it. Especially for those affected in their first intent. Crepault (2014) mention marijuana can be extremely dangerous for adolescents and people with mental illness. This research mentions how these consumers harm themselves. On the other side, to solve this major problem, marijuana’s legalization is one of the first steps towards reducing marijuana-related harm, and health-focused that individuals must follow (p.40). This type of problems worry the community but still encourage these individuals to realize the danger from marijuana. Several programs have been open for individuals from the community to seek help before it’s too late. This programs also offer opportunities such as reduce health risks, reduce self-harm, boost self-esteem and rehabilitation. Koenig, Erickson, Riley, Cheung, and O’Hare (2000) informs that decriminalization or legislation become a part of harm reduction and this programs also offer through the community. The goal becomes the reduction or minimization of drugs instead of becoming an addict and depend on them (p.109).
