Engine Start Abort


Engine start shall be aborted if:

1. ITT approaches or exceeds 920


2. NH is not in the green arc within 70 seconds of selecting Condition Lever to START & FEATHER


3. Engine oil pressure fails to reach 44 psi by SELECT switch reset

Takeoff Abort

Takeoff Abort


Procedure

FO Abort Procedure:


CA: states "Abort My Airplane"


FO: Removes feet from rudder pedals and states "Your airplane"


(CA accomplishes abort)


FO maintains wings level with ailerons


FO advises ATC of abort


FO requests emergency equipment, if directed.


FO accomplishes the Takeoff Abort Checklist once directed by the CA on the IAC.

Engine Start Abort


Procedure

Memory Item:


Condition Lever ------- FUEL OFF


Start SELECT Switch -- CENTER

Roll Control Jam


Procedure (FP)

Autopilot -------------- DISENGAGE


If control still jammed:


ROLL DISC handle -- Pull and turn 90 deg

Procedure (FP)

Retain flap setting and approximate airspeed at time of jam


If control still jammed:


Both pilots attempt to control by force. If unable to overcome jam:

PITCH DISC handle ----- Pull and turn 90 deg


Control column ---------- Both pilots attempt pitch control


Aircraft control ---------- Pilot with free control column

O2 Mask Donning Procedure


Items necessitating mask donning are:

Any time smoke or fumes are present or a situation requiring supplemental oxygen occurs, pilots will don the oxygen masks prior to conducting any other checklist.


1. Either pilot aware of a situation which could introduce smoke or fumes in the flightdeck, shall state, "Smoke - Don mask," or


2. Results in loss of cabin pressure above 10,000 MSL, shall state, "Oxygen - Don mask."

O2 Mask Donning Procedure


Procedure

Without delay, both pilots:


Headset ---------------------- REMOVE


Oxygen mask --------------- DON


If smoke or fumes are present:


Regulator (if required) --- EMERGENCY


Communications ---------- ESTABLISH


Headset ---------------------- ON


HOT Mic --------------------- OFF


Utilize interphone switch for crew communications


MASK/MIC switch --------- MASK

Standard Horizon Air Departure Briefing (First Officer as Pilot Flying)

"Call out eighty, V1, and rotate. Call any malfunctions, if before V1, it will be your decision to abort. After V1, I will continue the takeoff."


NOTE: If V1 and VR are equal, omit the V1 call.

EGPWS Response: "GLIDE SLOPE"

Maneuver to re-establish glide slope

EGPWS Response: "DON'T SINK"

Arrest descent or re-establish positive climb

EGPWS Response: "TOO LOW - TERRAIN"

Increase climb rate or maneuver to increase terrain separation

EGPWS Response: "TOO LOW - GEAR"

Execute missed approach

EGPWS Response: "TOO LOW - FLAPS"

Execute missed approach

EGPWS Response: "SINK RATE, SINK RATE"

Reduce descent rate until alert stops

EGPWS Response: "TERRAIN, TERRAIN"

Stop any descent and climb as necessary.


After correction, advise ATC if required

EGPWS Response:


"CAUTION TERRAIN, CAUTIN TERRAIN"


or


"CAUTION OBSTACLE, CAUTION OBSTACLE"

Climb or turn to avoid terrain/obstacle conflict.


After correction, advise ATC if required.

EGPWS Response:


"TERRAIN, TERRAIN - PULL UP"


or


"OBSTACLE, OBSTACLE - PULL UP"


and/or


Red PULL UP light illuminates

Call "missed approach," Execute procedure



Execute TAKEOFF PROCEDURES, Windshear/EGPWS Recovery, or MISSED APPROACH PROCEDURES as applicable



Advise ATC as required after the EGPWS escape is completed
