The IC shall contact , when required, staged crews and provide them with a crew assignment based on the IAP as determined by the IC.



This shall be accomplished by following the Assignment Model which is comprised by the following 3 parts: (3)

1. Task - Simple description of the action needed to accomplish or support the objective



2. Location of Task - Specific location where the task is to be performed



3. Objective of the Task - Centres around the completion of our tactical Priorities for the chosen location

The IC may assign one of the following actions for a crew to perform with their apparatus as part of a crew assignment: (2)

1. "Spot Your Truck" - Crew shall position their apparatus in a manner that does not impede access for other fire department apparatus, NEMS apparatus, police apparatus or any other resource apparatus as may be required



2. "Set Your Truck " - Crews shall position their apparatus where indicated for use

The IC may assign one of the following standard tasks as part of a crew assignment: (7)

1. "Lay a line" - describes a crew deploying and operating a pre-connected 45mm hose line or PAL pack hose line



2. "Lay a 65" - describes a crew deploying and operating a 65mm hand line from the apparatus



3. "Deploy a Master Stream" - describes a crew deploying and operating a portable master stream device from an apparatus


The IC may assign one of the following standard tasks as part of a crew assignment: (7) Cont'd...

4. "Secure a water supply " - describes a crew establishing a supply line to the specified apparatus from a water source


5. "Provide a supply line" - describes a crew deploying a supply line from one location to another


6. "Set up PPV" - describes a crew setting up positive pressure ventilation


7. "On-Deck" - describes a crew being assigned as tactical reserve for a specific hazard Zone

The IC shall communicate the specific location where a crew is to perform a task as part of the crew assignment including: (3)

1. The side the crew shall operate or enter an area on (A,B,C,D)



2. The occupancy or exposure a crew shall operate in



3. The floor the crew shall operate on (1st, 2nd, 3rd)

The IC shall communicate one of the following standard objectives as part of the crew assignment : (5)

1. "Primary" - crew shall perform a rapid search of the area indicated



2. "Fire Control" - crew shall perform suppression activities as required in the area indicated



3. "Secondary" - crew shall perform a thorough search of the area indicated



The IC shall communicate one of the following standard objectives as part of the crew assignment : (5) Cont'd

4. "Loss control" - crew shall perform property conservation activities as required in the area indicated



5. "Support" - crew shall perform the task indicated to support an objective being completed by another crew as indicated

The IC structures a crew assignment around: (3)

1. Addressing the incidents critical factors



2. The completion of our tactical Priorities



3. Providing a tactical reserve through the on-deck location
