The square is an emblem of morality and one of the working tools of my profession. The compass circumscribes my actions, and keeps me within bounds with all mankind. The letter G alludes to geometry, the fifth science, but more particularly to the sacred name of the Diety, in whom I place my trust and with reverence most devoutly and humbly bow. |
