What Does It Mean To Me Essay

The symbol I created to represent myself contains a wide variety of different drawings and words. The drawings represent activities or specific components of my life that are important to me. The different words that go around the inside are values that I believe to be important, as well as traits that I possess. The most important words on my symbol to me are family, friends, honesty, dedication, respect, appreciation, forgiveness, caring, sacrifice, and patience. Family and friends are by far the most important as without them, especially without my family, I would not be the person I am today. I know most people say they have an amazing family, but I truly do, extended and immediate. My family means the world to me and having them though …show more content…
These I know are common values to have but I truly do believe in them. How can another respect you if you don't respect them? How can someone ever forgive you for your mistakes if you never forgive them for theirs? No one is perfect I know that but these qualities are important in all aspects of life. Honesty is a big one for me. I don't see the point in lying because then you have to remember what you said, which is way more work than it's worth. I am a terrible liar, I can't even jokingly lie so I really do not see any point in it. Dedication, appreciation, and sacrifice are the traits that I believe will get you places. You must be dedicated and have passion with what you do if you want to excel in it. You must have appreciation for the ones around you there to help you at a moments notice. The ones that will do anything for you and are always there for you, you have to appreciate them and let them know. You also must be able to make sacrifices, if you cannot change your plans occasionally or the way you do things, then you're in for a long ride. Not everything is about you, you have to be flexible for others the way they are for

If the main character Tally of my book Specials by Scott Westerfeld could have any symbol for her personality it would be a heart with two swords behind it. The heart represents her kindness. Throughout the story she’s very kind and very caring to her friends. For example when she turned special and her boyfriend didn’t she always came and talked to him and made him feel better, even though it was against the rules.…

In my Coat of Arms Project, I decided to use two symbolic shapes that represent who I am as a person. One of the first shapes I thought of was the circle since the circle is most commonly associated with routine and perfection. Being in routine and having a cycle of everyday events prevents me from having anxiety or stress about school since having a schedule will help plan out my day and allow me extra spare time to do extracurricular activities. In addition, I am usually referred to as a perfectionist because I always want to get a 100% on all homework, classwork, quizzes, and tests. Another shape I thought of that illustrated my personality was the square since it is linked with integrity and community.…

One symbol that is significant to me is the Bible. Being a devout Christian, I find myself having the desire to read my Bible every night and day. Reading the Bible gives me a boost for the day and optimism that the day will go right because encouraging verses allow for such thoughts. The Bible allows me to grow stronger in my faith as I also obtain more knowledge of Jesus, trust, love, etc. Even though as noted a “secular” country, being dominated by Hinduism had brought it difficult to be a Christian in India in the 90’s.…

Recently my family was sitting around the kitchen table discussing objects that represent one’s life. It became an interesting discussion, especially when I named my items. I managed to think of five items that I felt represented me fairly well: a plastic lizard, a water bottle, a doll, a paintbrush, and a nail. There are two objects from this list that I find represent me the most: a damaged doll and a nail.…

If I had to get one thing tattooed on my body, I would get the symbol that for me is home, security, love, faith, and who I am behind these curious blue eyes and small stature. Simply, an inverted triangle, representing mind, body, and spirit. At age six this symbol became the catalyst which caused me to grow into who I am. For over a decade I have spent every late July packing my trunk and driving home. Home is not the steely grey house on a hill where I live 11 months of the year.…

What Happiness Means to Me Most of us do not need the definition of happiness because we know it when we feel it, but the dictionary describes happiness as a state of well-being characterized by emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. So, what is it that makes us feel that certain feeling that none of us can really put our finger on. Society views happiness as having the expensive house, the expensive car and the expensive lifestyle instead of what truly makes you happy. In my opinion, the meaning of happiness is a sense of fulfillment watching your kids grow into ambitious young adults who follow their dreams, being able to go to college after the age of forty to get a degree, feeling the warmth of the sun caressing your body while…
