The Native Indians saw the Eagle as a symbol for great strength leadership, and vision. As I transition out of the U.S. Army, I want to mirror these symbols that I used in combat as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician and bring them to the classroom in order to mentor and aid in leading young students through their college years to ensure a smooth transition into the adult world.…
This coat of arms is made to represent Ender Wiggin. In the novel, Ender’s Game, Ender Wiggin is a brave leader, a genius, and the general of a space army. The symbols represent each of those characteristics in some way. In the top left corner, there’s a crown, the symbol of a leader or king. When people have crowns bestowed upon them, one of their duties inherently becomes leading the army of whatever nation the person has been out in command of.…
The picture of the book shelve shows my first symbol. The first picture of the ocean shows my second symbol. My first theme is love.…
This kind of pisses me off. I didn't get my tattoos to impress anyone, therefore I don't give a damn what other people think. My tattoos represent something or someone VERY special TO ME. They are there as a permanent reminder to of things and/or people that I NEVER want to forget. That I want to carry with me every day for the rest of my life.…
In my understanding, that was my command to do. Give selfish treatment to one man but give all credible treatment to the other, who in all shed the same blood fighting. I became deeply distraught by this segregated treatment because of some set value one man has to have just by the color of his skin. In disgust, I still had to do what was meant for me to do. I would work on the black soldiers and a woman named Clara Barton would work on the white soldiers. I grew interest into wanting to know how she felt about this unfair situation, however it was prohibited to step near her or inside the white soldier’s tent.…
Though I was not able to put all of my attention to school until junior year, I kicked it into high gear as soon as I could. Despite all my hard work, I was unable to find myself a place in the top 10%. This has hurt my appearance to colleges, but I hope that with these explanations of what I had to go through freshman and sophomore year, my position will be slightly more understandable. Engineering honors is the best thing for my future and everything I want to do with my life. Honors will help me grow as a student, so I can be a better employee and will help me grow as a person.…
My Right to My Guns According to our second amendment in the constitution, the citizens have the right to hold and bear arms. Gun control issue has been a significant issue in the last two years, and the matter has even been taken to the highest Court in the U.S. I do not think we need more gun control.…
I believe that my personal background, and my success despite the adversity that I have faced is an essential part of who I am. The first of my struggles came from being born to two teenage parents without at least a high school education, and although my mother went on to get a GED and to college my father did not. Many people in my family had issues with substance abuse and addictions including my father. Although, I was raised by my mother and grandmother, my father’s actions and behaviors negatively impacted my life. My father was verbally and mentally abusive to the people around him, especially when he used alcohol.…
A little over a week ago, I was getting in my car to drive home following an intense cross country workout. Too caught up in pondering my splits for our three mile time trial and too proud of the effort I had put forth, I had completely forgotten that I had a piano lesson at 5 P.M. immediately following my cross country practice. After turning on my car, I glanced down at the digital clock unaware of my predicament...5:04. I realized that I was in trouble. I was going to be late and have to surrender half of my expensive lesson time.…
Back in the days of yore, when I still walked the soft warm grass of my homeland, back when the great ice storm was still fresh in the minds of men, I lived in a trailer in the country, between Cridersville and Wapakoneta. I had a lot of free time and not many friends to talk to, save for Lucas who lived all the way in Buckland. I spent the majority of my free time at my neighbor’s house. My neighbors were the most ignorant gun toting Americans I’ve ever known.…
When I think about the boy who I was growing up, the young adult I am today, and the man I plan to be in the forthcoming years, one aspect of my life stands out to me far more radiantly than anything else: my culture, my skin, my identity as a Bangladeshi-American. There aren't many clubs or organization for Bangladeshi Americans such as myself. Make no mistake, there are certainly events for Bangladeshis living in the United states, many that I have attended due to various entreaties from my parents. These are event where the only language spoken is one that I barely speak (Bengali), the only music conversed about is that which I don't listen to or understand, and the only events discussed happen in another country that I have spent only a…
As I brainstormed about things that I carry, nothing stood out. Not a single prized-possession, no metaphoric symbols, no family heirlooms, not even an everyday object that I could somehow pull a deeper meaning out of came to mind. I had no words to describe what I carry, nothing at all. And I then realized that I couldn’t have described it any better. I carry nothing.…
To me, it is a symbol of years of hard work and trials and of all the things I had learned from the game wrapped up into one…

Courage; defined as the ability to do something that may be frightening to others or, having strength in the face of pain or grief. When most people hear the word courage their mind might jump to the military or law enforcement, not me. I did not physically witness this incident of courage, for I was inborn, but I have heard the stories. It all began on the cold, winter day of February 27, 1998.…
