The loss of endangered species can affect the ecosystem and the circle of life. This affects the natural food chain and the delicate balance that each ecosystem needs to survive. The ESA requires the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) as well as the Department of Interior to always update a list of all the animals and plants that are classified as engendered. In the twenty-first century more and more habitats are lost which causes more endangered species. Things like pesticides, suburbanization, predation, drought, and climate change are causing the habitat loss. We need to do something so that these animals have some where to live. If we can take care of their natural habitats we wouldn’t have to worry about the cost of wildlife preservation or refuges. Since that is one of the main arguments against the refuges there are ways to get fewer animals out of there and back into their homes. Another cause of loss of natural habitats is mining companies, oil companies, and large-scale agricultural operations. Illegal imports of ivory, fur, meat, and other animal products continue despite the laws that have been created against this. I don’t understand why real fur is necessary to have and why it’s so expensive. What is wrong with fake fur? We kill animals to make ourselves look better. Thankfully the habitats for these animals are protected under the ESA. The ESA …show more content…
These men had become convinced that current practices were affecting the forests and the biodiversity that those forests provide. The organizations focus is primarily to attempt to stop the use of clear cutting on public lands. (Newton 1) There shouldn’t be land cutting any way that just means that we are taking away habitats from animals that need them. If these animals have no were to o then they will invade our private property and may eventually come to the cities were they have no chance of
