This movement was the first of its kind, a movement to protect national wildlife, wilderness, and natural resources. However, this movement was not for the benefit for the ecosystems which precious resources and wildlife existed, but was initially created for the benefit of humans. During the second industrial revolution, cities became overcrowded which led the cities citizens to yearn for a peaceful place to escape. With this, American’s took up outdoor activities like camping, fishing, and other outdoor recreational activities. This led to a better appreciation for the scenery that the wilderness brought to the table, and later led to the creation of our first national parks like the Yosemite and Yellowstone. we program our society to use up what's around us so we can be happy, which involves living a life of luxury and excess. Still when we discovered what we're doing is wrong and we can serve these habitats we do it for selfishness we do it because the ecosystem or the habitat benefits us or we save the animal but not the ecosystem that it lives in despite the to being linked.
