Lightning
Light! What is it? Where does it come from? What can we do with it to help humanity? It allows us to see the unknown the places that have been dark for years. It helps us see what is around us. Different sources of light can be used to power the things around us. Lightning is a source of light.
Lightning is an electrostatic discharge between two electrically charge regions with in the clouds and surface of a planet. The charged regions within the atmosphere equalize themselves through a flash of lightning referred to as a strike. There are three types of lightning from the clouds, intra-cloud; is from a cloud to itself, cloud to cloud; from one cloud to another, and cloud to ground . Earth, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn are

As the electrons gather in the lower part of the cloud they give off a negative charge. As the moisture that just lost the electrons moves up they gather in the top part of the cloud they give off a positive charge. The moisture that moves up runs into cold temperatures and some of the freeze. When that happens they give off a negative charge and fall to the ground and when they hit the ground the electrons transfer to the earth which causes the conditions for lightning to strike. When charge separation happens in the cloud it creates an electrical field. A step like series of negative charges called a stepped leader. It works its way down from the bottom of a cloud to Earth. Each of these segments is about 150 feet long. When the lowermost step comes close to a positively charged object it is met by a climbing surge of positive electricity called a streamer. A streamer can rise up through a building, a tree, or even a person. The process forms a channel through which electricity is transferred as lightning. Some types of lightning never leave the clouds but travel between them in differently charged areas of the clouds. Other forms can be sparked by forest fires, volcanic eruptions, and even snowstorms.
In conclusion Lighting can be a very good alternative energy even though it can be very dangerous. On Earth,
