Cadburys began in 1824 when John Cadbury opened his first shop in Birmingham, England selling tea and drinking chocolate which he made and prepared in his shop. In 1831 he bought a warehouse not far from the shop and began making his products on a commercial scale and by 1842 he was selling 16 varieties of drinking chocolate and 11 different types of cocoas.
