Some people argue that educating the citizen is not or should not be the government’s responsibility. That a government controlled education system is unconstitutional because it can be manipulated to create a submissive society and threatens individual liberties. These groups against government-controled education claim that government regulations are hurting rather than helping state schools; that local school should be given the freedom to set their own curriculum according to the needs of their community. State education systems should have the power to hire and fire teachers according to their performance without any government intervention. Furthermore, there’s the idea that government controlled education will end up being dominated by politicians and bureaucrats; people who may not always have the best interest of the students in mind. They also stated that, politicians have elected to ignore all the evidence that centralized government education will only add to the problem of poor performance, and rather than acknowledging it’s down side, they have increase the efforts to further their centralization agenda for their own benefit. The anti-government controlled education groups are convinced that a standardized curriculum mandated by a centralize government department of education will help foster socialism by discouraging individuality,
