Before we get into the topic of what makes up these so called “bad teachers”, we must first acknowledge the teacher shortage within schools. According to a study, 8 percent of teachers leave the classroom each year which is double the rate in Finland or Singapore (two of the top countries of education in the world). The Leaning Policy Institute (LPI) had conducted a 2016 survey to find out the reason why such a high percentage of teachers are leaving the field and, “...55 percent cited professional frustrations... 18 percent cited financial reasons, including poor salaries, few benefits, and job insecurity”. Schools make it a habit to focus on STEM subjects and tend to cut out the arts. Sir Ken Robinson has made countless of Ted Talks regarding the topic and argue that we’ve been educated to become good workers, rather than creative thinkers stating, “We are educating people out of their creativity”. To add on, many students argue that we aren’t learning things we need in life. We have subjects such as history, science, and math- and although it’s important to know the fundamentals of such subjects, we have to remember people are born into different talents. Talents such as the arts, music, and dance. Subjects that aren’t focused on in school, and it’s discouraging. Kids are forced out of their creative mind and are pressured to focus on core subjects such as math and
