WVHFC is a small organization composed of five employees working within three departments. The departments consist of regulatory and legal affairs, research, and social events and communications. While these departments are obviously lacking within the WVHFC one must not assume they are absent from the organization itself. These duties are equally shared between the executive director and founder. Saving manpower, the two administrators split accounting duties and focus on building the financial processes necessary to sustain the organization within its niche in the state. The WVHFC’s financial practices work well for this fledgling organization and as it expands the need to take on an accounting professional is advisable but unnecessary at this stage.
