Good Readers and Writers To be a good writer one must master the art of telling stories with a unique approach. An exceptional writer needs to reinvent public truths in order to successfully express what they want the reader to fathom. An exceptional writer should also use personal experiences or connections to express their thoughts and transform it into a story. A good reader needs to have a developed imagination and an artistic sense to be able to grasp what the writer is trying to convey. A goo reader is also able to use personal connections and prior knowledge as it correlates to the story to be able to understand the writer’s intentions. One cannot completely excel in writing without being sufficient in reading. Therefore, a good reader makes a good writer and vice versa. Good writers are able to expand basic ideas by being innovative. According to, Vladimir Nabokov, in Good Readers and Good Writers, “Time and space, the colors of the seasons, the movements of muscles and minds, all these are for writers of genius…” He is saying that good writers do not discuss trivial topics, but instead they discuss in depth topics they have created. A good writer is able to think of something and transfer it onto paper to create a story. A good writer must be innovative in order to create scenes and characters that will form a story. In Joan Didion’s, Why I Write, she says, “Grammar is a piano I play by ear…” By this she means she is able to shift the structure…
