Sir there have been reports of the British attacking our us ships and sailors! The British have gone at this way to long. They keep taking our cargo and imprisoning our sailors. The actions the British were taking were getting out of hand and made America mad. In retaliation America attacked British ships which lead up to the war of 1812.
I strongly believe the war of 1812 should remain in the history books. The three main reasons why I believe this is because many historical landmarks were made in this war like the National Anthem was composed in this war. Another reason is because the British led an attack on the USA’s national capital which burned down and crumbled the capital. This anthem was composed by Francis Scott Key after the attack on Fort McHenry. Before all that happened the British started a push that targeted the fort. The British bombed the fort and lasted all night. At dusk the British called a retreat and left the fort in crumbles. Francis Scott Key awoke to see the smaller storm flag flying above. Francis felt inspired and wrote America’s national anthem.
The British decided to lead an attack on the USA’s capital which led to the burning of the capital which left it in crumbles. As this attack was going on a storm formed from out of nowhere and threatened the lives of the British soldiers which even claimed the lives of some British. Many other soldiers were left terrified and injured by the storm.
In all of this fighting back and forth, the USA showed that it was capable of defending and fighting off enemies that were trying to take what was ours. Our country fought a good war and took the victory with a gain of national pride and spirit. Americans helped rebuild our country back
