Most sweatshops prefer to hire younger children over adults because they are easier to teach and also less likely to revolt (Consumer Boycotts). Because children are still growing they can be taught in an easier fashion, trained to follow instruction. A quarter of a billion children between the age of five and early teens are forced to work in within 100 countries (Consumer Boycotts Can Discourage…). Instead of not being qualified for a job because a person does not have experience they are not qualified because they are to old and could. Instead of sending their child to school they send them to work. They never have the opportunity to earn a better life.
