Think about all the outcasts in today’s society, are they not all modern creature, or monsters in society. Example, if we see a tall, muscular man with tattoos and scars down his face, what do we think? Society labels this man as scary and dangerous. We do not know this man, he might have ten cats at home and he might be the kindest man ever, but who ever could guess his story. The creature in Frankenstein did not want to be a monster, but he was made into one. He was kind and caring at heart, but society saw his exterior and assumed he was the cruelest of any kind. He was called a monster, murderer, and devil by the townspeople and even by his own creator. The one person that was suppose to accept him and understand him left him and call him appalling names, such as an “abomination.” Constant rejection and cruelty led to the creature turning into the monster everyone assumed he was. He started to kill innocent people to get revenge on society and most of all to get revenge on his creator, Victor. He basically killed almost everyone in Victor’s family and those he cared about. As time goes by the story is still the same. There is no answer to why society hates and discriminates. Everyday they crush an innocent person’s soul without even knowing it sometimes. Society invisions an image, and unfortunately those who do not resemble the picture perfect image, are victims of bigotry and intolerance. What most people do not know is that rejection and hatred, more often than not, leads to the destruction of someone’s life or more than one person’s life if it is extreme or constant. Victor could have had a satisfying life with Elizabeth if society would have accepted the creature because then the creature would have had and felt acceptance and love and therefore he would not have felt like he needed to exact revenge on Victor, so in conclusion, the creature would have been happy and content with his life. Life can never be that simple though can
