Why I Became A Food Mill

In my career, I have used my milling science degree to start as a miller. Although I started at an entry-level position, I quickly rose up to management and research positions. With extensive research, I changed the way that we mill by producing flour in a more efficient manner. Also applying what I learned In my CAD Flow Sheets for Grain Processes class, I was able to offer more suggestions on how to lay out a plant more effectively. By doing these, the cost of production was reduced for the mills; therefore, reducing the cost of the end product for the customers. In addition, I studied the ability for other grains to be milled. Other grains having the ability to be milled has enabled these grains to have additional uses, thus increasing …show more content…
According to the Food Allergy Research & Education website, in 2018 one in every thirteen children had a foodborne allergy. The ability to offer more products that reduce the probability of a child consuming a food that they are allergic to is an objective of many food scientists. Not only does it make it safe for a child to consume, but producing healthy food is another aspect that is key to the food science industry. While there are many diets out there, knowing if the food you are eating is healthy is very important; unfortunately many are uninformed about the nutritional content of their food. By educating people using modern technology to spread the word, I was able to inform people more about the nutrition content of their foods. By applying my knowledge gained in my Quality Assurance of Food Products class, I have developed products for the market. With increases in restrictive dietary lifestyles, the markets continue to change. By making new products to meet these lifestyles diets, the consumers have a better variety of choices to select from making it easier to follow the recommendations of such
