Suspending the student shows that they cannot do whatever they want and get away with it. If someone gets caught with something in school that is not aloud in school whatsoever they will get suspended and possibly something else rather than suspension. If this happens it shows other students the consequences of doing the wrong thing and maybe it will get others not to do that. Some students might not take it seriously and do it anyway and get themselves in trouble, and some students who get suspended too much might drop out because they never took it serious and got suspended. It says in the “School Suspension: Pros and Cons” article that “In-school suspensions— provide an in house approach by having students who committed infractions stay in a designated room to work independently on their school work. There is no talking unless the student has a question for the ISS Supervisor.” so this way of suspension could help students while they are suspended. Some students could put off doing stuff and just sleep during this time where they are in a room in the quiet and they could get a bunch of work they are supposed to do but they don’t do and then there grades will be bad, but, most of the time being suspended in the school can
