Why Do Illegal Immigrants Enter South America

Wetbacks followed people from south America and Mexico trying to illegally enter the United States. Due to their social location or, the group memberships that people have because of their location in history and society, they are subjected to conditions here in America we would never experience. Ana’s father could no longer afford to pay for tuition for her schooling so she had to be pulled from the 7th grade. In the US, school up through high school is free because with federal and state taxes we can afford to pay for free and universal primary education. This is something people outside of the United states have to deal with just because, of where they were born. They are labeled as illegal and they are followed around by the stigma of being ‘thugs’. They are abused and robbed by gangs such as MS13. They cannot even report this to the police, because once they are breaking the law by being in a country illegally and two often times the police are corrupt and they abuse and rob them immigrants as well. When passing through Mexico, 75% of the abuse that the immigrant endure is perpetrated by the police. The social location of where they are born and live leave them in such terrible poverty that they feel that making the dangerous journey something most Americans do not feel hopeless enough to do. It is a norm for them to leave their families, jobs, and homes all behind just to maybe make it across the US border and just maybe get a job and just maybe make enough money to send back home to their families. That is a sacrifice that they make that is all too common. Illegal immigrants or atlas people who attempt the journey have a social location that we in America just cannot understand. People tend to generalize, or use a statement that goes beyond the individual case and is applied to a broader group, llegal immigrants. It is true that they are technically they are breaking a law, but just because something is a law it does not mean it is also immoral. Laws and morality are not synonymous and a lot of people do not understand that. It is also true that some people who do illegally enter our country are smuggling drugs and involved in crimes, but most are desperate people trying to get by. They just want to work and make money that they would not be able to make in their home county. Most illegal aliens are so afraid to be deported that they avoid crime at all cost they do not want to make scene they do not want to draw unnecessary attention to themselves. It may be hard for some to learn how to look past these generalizations at look at the illegal immigrant's case by case. People demonize them and say they are taking our jobs, selling drugs, and committing crimes right in your neighborhood. These people are not the drug smuggling rapist some make them out to be. They re just normal people who are not privileged enough in their own country to find a job that will pay them enough to survive. The generalization of these people causes more conflict than them illegally entering actually does. This document highlights the struggle between the capitalist and the working class. Marx believed that society is made up of two classes the bourgeoisie, those who own the means of production, and the proletariat, the mass of workers who do not own the means of production. The illegal immigrants are the proletariats they are kept down by the competition created by capitalism. A lot of people who do not like the immigrants are proletariats also. The bourgeois create this false sense of conflict and competition with them to keep the numbers divided. The two groups of the working class are too busy hating and fighting each other to realize that they are more similar than not and they are both just trying to make it in a capitalist
