“Don’t worry about being successful but work toward being significant and the success will naturally follow”, words from Oprah Winfrey who is not just another famous African-American entrepreneur. Oprah was born on January 29, 1954, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, USA from an unmarried young couple. She was raised and nurtured by her grandmother after her parents decided to have a separation. She is one great example of a person who has succeeded to rise from poverty and overcome terrible experiences in her past because of her determination and hard efforts. She is best known for hosting her own internationally popular talk show from 1986 to 2011. She is also an actress, philanthropist, publisher and producer. The

It enables a person to fulfil their potential while building a strong foundation from which to make daily decisions, both professionally and personally. The role of self-leadership contributes to positive interpersonal relationships and task achievement. Self-leadership is shown as she explores her emotional intelligence and gives way of relatable issues. She investigates her self-awareness, monitors feelings, improves communication skills and increases social awareness. In addition it helps prevent conflict and strengthen mediation skills. She is very relatable in the case of her personal battles with struggles like weight gain which she has openly shared through the years with issues people can identify. Oprah is always leading by example. Her focus on being the best person she can be, translates to the way other people choose to live their lives in response. Oprah is a leader who doesn’t only give advice and feedback; she offers suggestions to others going through the same situations or is having a hard time. She states “I am a woman in process. I’m just trying like everybody else. I try to take every conflict, every experience, and learn from it. Life is never dull”. Oprah Winfrey is very transformational; she is always an inspiration and possesses very high levels of self-leadership. Transformational leaders stimulate and inspire followers to both achieve the outcomes and develop them into leaders. She is a good communicator, as she knows what she’s saying, because she says everything from her heart. And the listeners can feel it in her words. Oprah Winfrey has moved and motivated people all over the world for years. The examples shown is the morning show “The People Are Talking” at the beginning of her media career or the legendary day time talk show “The Oprah Winfrey Show”, she has used every platform as an opportunity to help people through her words. The use of clear words and straightforward sentences always grabs the attention of her audience easily. She is a born leader and a powerful public speaker who has brushed her oratory skills throughout her life to be the great icon that she is today. She reaches out to every single person in the audience by her concern for the subject she speaks on, and enjoys her role as a speaker because of the way she freely can express herself.
In conclusion, Oprah Winfrey decisions stimulated her to become a leader and a perfect role model for any women in the world. She is an effective and successful transformational leader: makes an extraordinarily solid case for why change ought to happen, advances
