“When we talk about America’s APIA communities, we are talking about the industry and entrepreneurship of people who have helped to build the United State of America for centuries, from business to science, academia, law and more. The aspiration of these great peoples have reached far beyond anything that our ancestors could have ever dreamed of and have helped usher in an era of unmatched prosperity for our community,” Gia said. Gia, who is to be my motivator, mentor and leader of the Vietnamese-American community. I first met Gia when I volunteered for the VACOC in their annual fireworks fundraiser. From my first impression, Gia was an active leader and hands on everything. Later on, I became more involved with the VACOC activities and working closely with the board of directors. From my working experiences, I am getting to know more about Gia and inspired by her leadership style. A month ago, I asked Gia to be my interviewee for my midterm project and she kindly accepted my offer. First of all, in this interview, I will try to show the truly inspiring story of Gia, her leadership, the way she exercises leadership, and how she overcame all the challenges as an APIA Woman Leader. Moreover, I am going to share my reflection on what I learned from this interview relates to what I am learning in class regarding about APIA Woman Leaders. Lastly, I am going to …show more content…
Gia is an APIA woman leader who has been involved in many positions of leadership and made a lot of impact in the business community.     Sitting in on the MCC meeting made me realize that the minorities on campus are disadvantaged by number, especially in funding.
