The Haybaler Problem
Problem Statement
You have five bales of hay. All of the bales of hay were weighed in combinations. 1 and 2, 1 and 3, etc.. All of the weights were written down without keeping track. The weights of the bales are
80,82,83,84,85,86,87,88,90, and 91.
Your initial task is to find out how much each bale weights. Is your answer the only possible set of weights? Explain how you know.
Process
In the hay baler problem we had to figure out different combinations of weights of hay bales that were unknown. To try and figure this problem out, I knew that the total weights ranged from 80, to 91. The weights of the bales are 80,82,83,84,85,86,87,88,90, and 91. I started off with the number
40, for the bale that weighs 80, because I know

In this Beanium lab, the objective was to make sense of the numbers used to calculate average atomic mass. By separating, counting, and weighing beans we were able to create the numbers used to calculate the weight of one bean. From there, we could use the total number of beans to produce the percent abundance for each type of bean. These were the numbers that we had to produce in order to understand how and why there are many types of isotopes for each element. In doing this lab, we can think through the importance of finding the average atomic mass and not just using a single isotope for an element.…

The first camaro went for sale in 1966 and came out in 1967 known as the 1967 camaro z28, It was designed for a competing car to the ford mustang. The first generation camaros came out from 1966-1981. Back in the 70’s when dirt track racing was starting to get big they would typically use camaros and novas for race cars. If some of you have seen today’s camaros from the older ones they don’t look anything alike the older ones to me i like better because of the looks they are made stronger and more durable the newer ones are made of fiberglass and plastic they would end up being crushed in a car accident although the frames from the camaro are made from aluminium so they are a lot lighter than the older ones they just don’t have that muscle…

More traditional tools for measuring mass are spring scales and triple beam balances. Discuss in terms of forces and torques how each of these tools can be used to determine the unknown mass of an object. Include in your discussion an explanation as to why mass measurements taken by a spring scale are affected by local variations in gravitational field strength, while those taken by a balance are not. The way a triple beam balance works has to do with the idea that equal masses on each side are being pulled downwards by gravity with equivalent forces.…
