Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education”. Growing up I always loved going to school and learning new material. My parents constantly encouraged my sister and I to obtain a college education following high school. Surrounding myself with friends who supported that decision made receiving a college education an even bigger drive because we shared the same goal. Education opens a lot of doors in life and without an education possibilities are limited for a stable job in today’s society. Not only does education demonstrate how to think intensively and critically, but it also broadens your horizons and gives you a backbone for life.
I have always appreciated school since I was little, but sometimes it can be challenging. My parents would always tell me, “if it was easy, everybody would do it”. The difficulty that comes with going through school certainly stretches your mind to start thinking intensively and critically. Questions turn thoughts into intensive thoughts because you have to think critically about

I believe having an education is one of the most important key things in life. This will always be there for you and will be available when something else fails. Even though during school I might not be good at some subjects, I still strive for success. I know one day I will be able to fall back on my education whether that’s for a job interview or just being well rounded. School might not be for everybody, but I believe everybody can get through it if you are determined and have that drive. Going through school made me feel like I had a solid foundation to base anything off of. Education is so important in life and I believe everybody should have one and strive for one that way they have something to fall back on when something else doesn’t work
