Deciding to Attend College Is it a good decision to attend college? Will going to college guarantee me a better future? Does having an education gives me a better life? Why have I decided to attend college? I have decided to attend college to further my education, to own my own business, and to be successful. Having a good Education is very important. By having good education it gives me a better chance at having better job opportunities, more money and more respect. When employers look for job candidates they look for the best employees first, and to be the best I must have an education. Without some type of education finding a good paying job will be difficult. Having a higher education will qualify me for higher job positions. Hence qualifying me to receive more money. “A picture is often worth a thousand words, and the graph below illustrates this point. I have been hearing this my entire life and I believe that it is true. Because as I stated earlier without some type of education I can’t be successful. What is success? Success- favorable or desired outcome; also: the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence. (Merriam Webster Dictionary, n.d.) Why is education consider the key to success? Education is the key to success because it opens doors for people of all backgrounds, and it expands the human mind with knowledge. The vast amount of knowledge gained through education prepares individuals to solve problems, teach others, function at a higher level and implement transformational ideas. Without education, one’s chances for securing a good job and ascending to a higher economic and social status are often limited. (Smith,
