Brutus continued reminding the people of what he thought of Caesar and how much he loved him, where as Antony cunningly turned the focus toward the conspiracy group. "As Caesar loved me, I weep for him. As he was fortunate, I rejoice at it. As he was valiant, I honor him. But, as he was ambitious, I slew him. There is tears for his love, joy for his fortune, honor for his valor, and death for his ambition."(23-27) Brutus began to remind the crowd how much he loved Caesar and how much he meant to him. Antony opened saying what evil men do they take with them forever. He also would have major sympathy for Caesar, thus still drawing on the mood of the crowd.
