There's always two sides of the story when it comes to an argument. Brutus tries to explain to the crowd that Caesar was ambitious and is not fit to rule Rome. Antony tries to turn the crowd Brutus. Brutus and Antony used effective persuasive techniques in their speeches from the Tragedy of Julius Caesar. Brutus used two persuasive techniques that are striking to convince the crowd that Caesar was ambitious. Brutus used a convincing technique by using pathos.. Brutus said, “had you rather Caesar were living and die all slaves, than that Caesar were dead to live all free men?” He knew nobody wouldnt want to be a slave and everyone would rather consider to live as a free man or women. Antony uses pathos as one of his techniques to make the roman people betray Brutus. Antony said “when the poor have cried Caesar hath wept; ambition be made with sterner stuff.” Antony is turning the crowd against Brutus by proving and clarifying Caesar is not ambitious. Antony used another persuasive technique by logos to prove Caesar was not ambitious. Antony said, “you know how Caesar loved you.” An ambitious person shows no love for nobody but himself, but according to Antony Caesar loved his people and makes him not ambitious.
